The Hubley family of Southborough (Fire Lt. Skip Hubley, Linda Hubley, Fire Explorer Matt Hubley and Tanya Hubley) adopted a platoon through the Adopt-A-Platoon program this past spring. The platoon consists of 22 Army soldiers over in Iraq.
Matt & Tanya have been diligently saving and spending some of their money purchasing items and spending time collecting and packaging boxes. The soldiers have asked for some items that they need help in acquiring.
Pillows, white socks for recreation & black socks for patrols, hand-held electronic games, electric shavers, CD players, DVDs, SD memory cards for digital cameras, MP3 players and Play Station 2 and PS Portable games are the most requested items. One soldier is requesting a digital camera.
If you could help the Hubley family with these items, it would be most appreciated. Drop off boxes for the Hubley Adopt-A-Platoon can be found at the Southborough Library, and here at Fire Headquarters, 21 Main Street. The Hubleys send several packages a month, and letters and cards each week.

Magazines: Sports, biking, football, Time, Newsweek, cars, etc. (does not have to be new)
Books: Harry Potter, mysteries, short stories, sports (does not have to be new)
Snacks: Pringles, hard candy, Skittles, M&Ms, Chips Ahoy, Oreos, chocolate chip cookies, salsa, nacho cheese, Raman noodles, Campbell soups, microwavable meals, coffee & tea, energy/cereal/granola bars, Doritos, peanut butter, jellies, gum, sugar packets, canned tuna, canned fruit, popcorn, instant soups and cereal, nuts, crackers, and cheese spreads.
Please do not send pornography, religious material, pork products, or items packed in glass.
