Truck driver injured in Mass Pike crash

February 15, 2008

Some residents of Woodland Road were awaken from their sleep shortly after 2:30 AM on February 15th when a Ryder box truck left the Mass Pike and rolled over onto its side. The truck just missed landing in two back yards, and potentially striking one house.

The driver received minor injuries and was transported via Southborough Fire Ambulance to a local hospital.

The contents of the truck were supplies, as well as 26 coolers packed with blood products all for the American Red Cross. The Red Cross was notified and responded to retrieve the blood products.

Ted's towing up-righted the truck and towed it from the scene. Firefighters stood by on scene while fuel was removed from the truck, and it was safely towed away.

Firefighter/Paramedic Ken Strong removes coolers of blood products from Lieutenant/Paramedic Mark Sadowski (located in the truck).
