...but HOW can we find YOU IN A HURRY??

Answer:  Without PROPER house numbers, we can't find you in a hurry.

Please stand in the street in front of your house and ask could emergency help find my house number in an instant, both day and night?

When you call 9-1-1, your name and address are automatically displayed on the dispatcher's console.  Often times however, proper help is delayed because emergency responders can not locate your house because lack of proper numbering.

Massachusetts General Laws and the Town of Southborough By-Laws require that each building be posted with a number, which must be visible from the street.  If the number can not be seen from the street, a the number must also be on a post at the end of the driveway in addition to the house.

House number requirements:

• Visible from the street

• Locate next to front door

• Contrasting colors - NO BRASS NUMBERS

• Minimum of 4 inches in height

• Use numbers, not letters

• Common driveways require all numbers on post at the street end of the driveway.
