Lightning strike damages home
November 15, 2007
Firefighters responded to a report of a lightning strike at a house off of Fisher Road at 10:10 AM on November 15th. As the storm moved it, this was apparently the only lightning strike in the area.
The homeowners were home when lightning hit a tree 35 feet from their house, destroying the tree, as well as their house and a neighboring tree. The lawn irrigation piping was unearthed in some areas. Pieces of the tree, ranging in size from small to several feet in length were scattered through the area. Neither of the two occupants were injured.
Marlborough Fire Department Engine 5 covered Southborough while firefighters were tied up at this scene.
