Fire ignites in trash truck on Breakneck Hill Road

Firefighters responded to a pile of trash on fire on Breakneck Hill Road at 1:24 PM on September 5, 2007. An Allied Waste truck driver noticed smoke emitting from his trash truck, so he dumped the load on a turn-out in the street to prevent the fire from spreading to the truck.

Firefighters quickly arrived and extinguished the fire. Once the fire was contained, the trash was placed into an open trash container and removed from the site.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 2:22 PM.
