Firefighters respond to small fire in Oak Hill Road apartment

Firefighters responded to a call for a fire in the kitchen of an apartment on Oak Hill Road shortly after 5:00 PM on January 24th.

Upon arrival, light smoke was showing from the kitchen of a first floor apartment.

The small fire on the stove was quickly extinguished, and the smoke removed from the building. There were no injuries, however rush hour traffic on Oak Hill Road was impacted.

Firefighters carry a smoke ejector fan from Asaree Drive to the house to remove the smoke.

Engine 23's crew connects to the hydrant to establish a water supply if needed.
