Fire damages kitchen in Southborough home.

May 6, 2007

Firefighters responded to a Southborough home after a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire in the kitchen at 8:17 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Off-duty and on-call firefighters were called in as box 36 was struck. Three engines, and the aerial ladder responded.

Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke throughout the house, - the fire was extinguished by a neighbor using a portable fire extinguisher.

Actual fire and heat damage was confined to the stove, microwave above the stove, and kitchen cabinets. Firefighters remained on scene for nearly an hour removing smoke from the house.

During this call, a medical emergency was reported off of Boston Road. Because all Southborough personnel were committed to the fire, a Framingham Ambulance was called under the mutual aid agreement to transport the person.
